HEC is considering closing the BA program and if finally decided then fresh students of the BA program will earn their final certificates with the title of Associate Degree instead of BA.

Old AIOU BA is Still Valid?
Yes, By the way, holders of a two-year BA/BSc testimonial will be enabled to continue their higher education which is still valued and recognized. However, Onward maybe after 2020 entrance will be offered in the AD Program only and BA/BSc Programs will not be offered by AIOU or any other university in Pakistan. AIOU New Admissions
Presently AIOU offering entrance in BA to AD. To understand you may say BA changed to AD whereas other things are approximately the same. Now instead of BA, you will receive a new name as HEC is thinking over it. AD Program would be equal to 14 years on the basis of this certificate you will be eligible to get enrolled in the fifth Semester of BS (04-Yrs duration Program). AIOU Two-yrs programs would be called AD proposed keeping in view of demand various industries in different fields.
