Admission Procedure for Overseas Students - Allama Iqbal Open University

Open University offers excellent educational opportunities from the range of certificate to degree level programs for Pakistani citizens living abroad. The university is the pioneer of distance education in Asia. The university's aim is to enable every overseas Pakistani to access easily AIOU educational programs and courses. The procedure to get admission in AIOU for overseas Pakistani national is pointwise summarized here:

• The open university offers admission twice a year for all programs. The Schedule of overseas admission of Allama Iqbal Open University Pakistan is as follows:

• From 1st week of August to 10th September (Autumn Semester)
• From 1st week of February to 10th March (Spring Semester) 

• There are 18 weeks of study for each semester. After the completion of semester work and assignments, a final examination will be conducted at Pakistan International schools. 
• Only 02 FC (Full credit courses) are allowed to take in a semester. However, instead of taken both full credit courses students to have the choice to choose 04 HC (Four Half Credit courses) or 01 full credit with 02 half-credit courses.
• You are required to fill the admission form with capital letters. The admission form must be completed in all respect. Following documents also required to attach with the form:

• Two passport size color photos (without attestation)
• Attested copies of Marks Sheet & Certificate and other supporting documents.
• A prescribed fee bank draft in name of AIOU treasurer (Original). Note that photocopy of the draft will not be accepted.
• Ensure that your return overseas postal address is clearly written on the admission form.
