Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics AIOU Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad for Dietetician

PGD in Dietetics is one year programme. There are two semesters in this program and This is a very unique and special program of AIOU. This program is offers by the university’s Department of Home and Health Sciences in collaboration with Kings College, London, U.K. Study or tutorial classes for nutrition and dietetics for doctors and dietitians are held at the study centers at different local teaching hospitals/ institutions at Multan, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, Islamabad and Peshawar. 

The mode of study is distance learning with condition of 3 days compulsory workshop for each course in the end of each semester. 

Elibity for admission 

Candidates who is seeking admission in the PGD (Dietetics) must have the following qualification and experience: 

  • M.Sc Nutrition (Home Economics) with teaching and Hospital experience. 
  • B.Sc Community Nursing or Equivalent with minimum three years experience in hospital.

Credits hours written as 4(3+ 1) means 3 hours lectures and three hours supervised lab per week.

    1. Yes sure! You are eligible to get admission in PGD Dietetics or PGD in Nutrition after completion of your graduation in Food & Nutrition and after getting diploma in Dietetics you can work as Dietician.     i need to know that am i eligible for diploma, as i have don my master in Anthropology and also have PG diploma in GIS . as i have worked with GIS base nutrition Mapping. so i need to know a little bit more about this.

  6. AOA- i am from faisalabad , in distance learning aspect is it as not a regular student ? via distance learning from any other city just 3 days workshop is required after each semester? Will the examination centers be in our own city or we must have to attend classes from AIOU ? plz elaborate it further ,
