To get passing marks in this course code 8608 Teaching practice-II of Allama Iqbal Open University a B.Ed student needs first to understand the sequence of necessary tasks and activities which are compulsory to complete in all respect. So Following things are very important and explained in a numerical order to make it easy to know well about what? When? and How? you will perform and participate in different actions:
Basic Points in Teaching Practice Course
- There is no final written exam paper in Teaching Practice-II.
- The university will send a letter regarding the workshop schedule, teaching practicum, and final lessons.
- Read the manual and find Urdu meaning of difficult words to understand the instructions and do miss any workshop if you want to solve and complete this activity by yourself.
- Don't pay anyone for solved practicum reports or lesson plans because the university could reject such reports due to plagiarism.
8608 Workshop format in Teaching Practice-II
- Participation of every student is mandatory in 07 days workshop before starting practicum. Minimum 80% attendance is compulsory in the B.Ed workshop.
- Workshop recommended timings by the university are 05 hours daily from 02 pm to 05 pm.
- Tutor and Resource Person will conduct the workshop. So all students should note both person's name, mobile number address and contact numbers for future references.
- In the end of workshop trainee teachers present 02 lessons and those who are doing specialization in Leadership and Management will deliver a presentation on two action plans about practicum report before the panel which will be consisted of a tutor, supervisor/cooperating teacher, and one or more experts. The panel rate performance of trainee teachers based on components of lesson/action plans and presentations.
Site Approval Form
- Trainee Teacher will submit a filled Site Approval Form in Appendix IV to the concerned regional office of Allama Iqbal Open University. In this form, the student will write the name of the school, principal and school contact numbers where he or she wants to conduct practicum for teaching practice-I.
- Now Regional AIOU office will issue a Teaching Practicum Letter in Appendix V to the Principal or School Head with a request to facilitate the trainee teacher by providing the opportunity to do the B.Ed course work practically in that school.
Start Teaching Practicum 8608 Teaching Practice-II
- Trainee Teacher will start Teaching Practicum in approved school site an complete it in 06 weeks time (144 hours means 04 hours daily).
- As no final exam is involved so only the performance of trainee teachers within the school/class during teaching practicum, lesson planning and management skills will be assessed and marks will be given based on these all such components by the cooperating teacher and tutor.
Student Performance Evaluation
- Performance will be judged through a professional 8608 Teaching Practice-II portfolio consisting of a record of all lesson plans delivered by trainee teacher and attendance sheets copies as proof and final lessons. In case of leadership and management student he or she will be assessed through their final presentation, practicum report updated reflective journals which is written record of day to day activities performed in 06 weeks duration at a school/class.
Note: You will surely pass with colorful marks in the 8608 Teaching Practice-II B.Ed Course if you successfully performed all the above-listed tasks and activities in light of instructions provided in manual. Also seek the guidance of tutor/cooperating teacher and workshop expert and accordingly prepare final lesson presentations/practicum reports.
